Turbulent Waters - A Dream

I had a dream last night. It made me think; what is life?

Her gaze was fuzzy. Her head was spinning slightly. The edges of her vision blurred a piercing white light that slowly ebbed closer to her central vision. She stood up suddenly, without saying a word to the two men in the cramped living room in which she sat moments ago.

They were both handsome and rugged. Like they hadn’t slept in days and neglected to shave. Their bodies were worn out and she could see signs of stress etching their faces. Deep holes in their cheeks were visible suggesting the lack of nutrition they had received in the last week. And yet they were beautiful.

The house they were somehow in was cluttered with random artifacts. Ones that looked most intriguing in fact. Some were bright colours and others just stood out because of their oddity being in a rather plain house.

She passed by so many things she wanted to take a closer look at but felt she had no time. If she stopped she would never get to her destination. She felt too dizzy to fully comprehend what she was looking at anyways. Weaving through she finally made it to the bathroom.

She shut the door behind her and looked around for a moment. This was all so unfamiliar and yet how did she know her way? She turned on the taps for the bathtub. Water cascaded out. She gently put the lid to the toilet down and sat on it heavily. Her elbows rested on her knees as her hands found her face. She rubbed her eyes trying to focus. Her hands entangled in her hair and she tugged lightly.

Her eyes were down cast and she noticed a small fish tank sitting on the floor. The fish tank, she noticed, also seemed crowded. The fish swam back and forth, in circles. “What should I do?” she asked the fish. No reply.

The tub was filled with steaming hot water. Somehow without noticing she had taken off all of her clothing. Subconsciously, she supposed. She stepped in slowly one foot at a time to test the water. It scolded her skin but she enjoyed it. Her red toenails appeared to bleed into the water. She sat down and raised her knees up to her chin. Her cheek rested easily on her knees. Her arms wrapped around her legs nonchalantly.

The door opened easily. He stepped in. His presence was almost unnoticeable. She glanced up without emotion. His long legs strode across the room in 3 easy steps and he gracefully sat down cross legged facing her. Their eyes locked for a few moments, silence.

“Turn around and take off your shirt.” She said without hesitation. He did as he was asked as though it was a ritual of there's in which she could not remember. Elegantly she raised her left hand out of the water. Water droplets formed on the tips of her red nails. She let the drops fall onto his naked back and slowly ease their way down. He didn’t move at all. He must have been used to this sensation. They looked like scratch marks. She thought fleetingly.

Stand up. She commanded easily in a whispered breath. He did so. His muscles flexed as he rose. She stepped out of the tub delicately. Wrapping her arms around his torso she hugged him. Her breasts pressed erotically on his back making both of their bodies heat instantly.

She felt a sense of love, longing and sadness. These emotions made her feel at home and yet uneasy. She felt so mellow and distant but this was exactly where she was supposed to be at this moment. The sadness she felt confused her.

He stepped away and turned to face her. His eyes glanced over her naked body and sparked with desire. She stepped back into the tub as he was peeling off the rest of his clothing. She stood in the water watching him. He joined her hastily and wrapped his arms around her. They could feel the heat of the other emanating from their bodies. Their bodies entangled and molded together in a sweet embrace.

He pulled away slightly and her head tilted up to gaze into his smoldering eyes. Seductively his lips grazed hers. Soft and full. He parted them skillfully with his silken tongue. He pressed her back against the shower wall and artfully explored her naked body. Their heat boiled the water that was pooled around their legs. He expertly wrapped a hand around her thigh and placed it on his hip. She clung to him molding her clammy skin with his. Willingly he entered her. She felt waves of delight ripple through her body. Their bodies joined harmoniously. An explosion of passion took over their bodies. They entered their own world, a euphoric state.

Everything went black and she felt there was no meaning to life other than this moment.

Authors note: This was a dream I took and elaborated on, I'm not exactly sure what it means however I have an idea. To dream of a bathtub signifies ones need to cleanse themselves of all problems in their life, to start anew, if you will. To dream of fish swimming signifies that you feel as though you are going no where in life and thus swimming in circles much like fish in a fish tank. Alternatively it could signify the fact that there are plenty of fish in the sea and that a relationship you currently have needs to be let go or dealt with in order to move on. I'm not entirely sure where I am but my subconscious knows better.
